Types of treatments
Soft tissue mobilisation
Soft tissue mobilisation is a form of manual physiotherapy using hands-on techniques on your muscles, ligaments and fascia in order to break adhesions, reduce swelling, improve blood flow and optimize your muscle function.
Joint mobilisation
A joint mobilisation is a form of manual physiotherapy using hands-on techniques on the joints to decrease pain and increase the range of movement for optimum joint health.
Post orthopaedic surgery rehabilitation
Specific individualised post-surgery rehabilitation programme to optimise your recovery with a variety of manual hands-on treatments and specifically tailored exercises.
Range of motion exercises
Range of motion exercises are done to preserve flexibility and mobility of the joints on which they are performed. These exercises reduce stiffness, decrease pain and allow you to move more freely.
Strength exercises
Strengthening exercises are exercises that are designed to increase the strength of specific or groups of muscles. Weak muscles can increase the risk of injury to the surrounding joints and soft tissues. Specifically tailored strength exercises will reduce injury risk, improve function, improve quality of movement, delay the onset of arthritic conditions and improve performance in all areas of life.
Sport-specific rehabilitation
A sport-specific tailored rehabilitation plan will give you the best chance of reducing aches and pains, reducing injury risk, returning to play and improving all-round performance.
Kinesio taping
Kinesio tape can be applied straight to the skin and is a great way to stabilize the joints and muscles.
Our approach
Once you book an appointment, we will send you a comprehensive health questionnaire that covers your health concerns, goals, and interventions to date. You will also receive a consent form to sign.
There will be a three stage process.
Step 1
At your first new patient appointment, which will last 50 minutes, we will review your questionnaires and take an in-depth health history, full physical examination with biometric measurements . At this point, we will organise appropriate investigations of blood/urine/stool and any radiology testing. We will create a treatment plan based on the information available.
Step 2
At the Review Appointment which will last 30 minutes, we will discuss the results in detail which will further inform the personalised treatment program. We will assess the effect of any interventions.
Step 3
We will then schedule the next follow up to evaluate progress and/or modify treatment program as necessary. These follow up appointments will be for 30 mins.
