Verruca Treatment

Swift Microwave Therapy

Choose Swift for a fast, effective and pain-free verruca treatment in the comfort of our state-of-the-art clinic in Ringwood.

Swift Microwave technology has been a clinical success since it’s been licensed and approved for use in Podiatry and Dermatology clinics. Over 100,000 treatments have been carried out in the UK since its launch and Body Consultancy is keen to start helping the local community treat their verruca in a safe and controlled environment.

What is Swift Microwave Therapy?

The Swift verruca treatment uses microwave energy to treat verrucas, warts and foot lesions in an extremely controlled and precise manner.

As the treatment uses microwave therapy, this means it will not be breaking any skin. The practitioner quite simply sets the device to a pre-determined depth and applies the probe to the area. Water molecules within the tissue begin colliding and creating localised heat energy – quickly treating all infected tissue within that area.

Benefits of Swift Microwave Therapy

When used by a trained Podiatrist, the Swift verruca treatment has many benefits for our clients.

  • Non-invasive & fast
  • Can be effective after just one session
  • No anaesthesia required
  • Very little discomfort or pain
  • Long term results
  • Cost-effective

Why choose Swift over other more traditional verruca treatment methods?

Many other treatments or surgeries for verrucas or warts have disadvantages over the Swift treatment we provide here at Body Consultancy.

Some methods quite simply mask the issue or reduce it for a short period of time, rather than providing long-term relief. There may also be the issue of having to wear a dressing over the affected area, and therefore having to keep it dry for up to a week. Other treatments are not as precise in some cases, meaning the time it takes to get the desired result can alter considerably.

Swift is £120 per treatment and an average of 3-4 treatments will likely be required depending on the size of the lesion and how long it has been left untreated.

As the treatment is so quick, you won’t notice much pain at all. However, depending on your pain threshold, it’s sometimes described as a pinch or sting. There is no post-treatment pain, but in some cases, the area may just be slightly tender.

Typically, clients will require between 3-4 sessions of Swift for the verruca to respond to the treatment effectively. Between each treatment, a 4-week interval will be required and after the treatments have finished a period of 12 weeks is recommended to see if the treatment has been effective. The actual treatment takes a matter of seconds so you will be in and out in no time. Sometimes, especially during the first session, our Podiatrist will need to pair Swift with other podiatry treatments, such as the removal of hard skin covering or around the wart or verruca.

Yes! Swift Microwave Therapy uses non-ionising radiation which means the treatment cannot cause any damage to the DNA of living things.

Our Swift-trained podiatrist will assess each client before treating them using the Swift technology. Generally, this treatment is not recommended for children so our minimum age is 12 years old.
