Our approach

Here at Body Consultancy, we offer 3 phases of care which will help to treat, stablise and maintain your condition:

We believe in working with the whole person – not just the painful area. So we’ll spend time really understanding not only your current symptoms but your daily activities, interests, experiences and goals.

We’ll advise you on what needs to change in the way you, move and hold yourself so that your problem doesn’t re-occur. We’ll help you build new habits to support your continued progress to full mobility and movement.

This ongoing phase is usually especially important for conditions we refer to as chronic (over 6 months), sub-acute (over 3 months) or acute (last few weeks) with significant re-occurring previous episodes.

How much will it cost?

Once you have met our Sports Therapist for your complimentary consultation. We will be able to provide you with a plan based on your requirements.

Our Sports Therapist

Sports massages at Ringwood and Verwood Body Consultancy may involve some discomfort, as they target specific muscles and areas related to athletic performance. The pressure applied can be intense, aiming to address tightness, knots, and muscle imbalances common in athletes. However, it’s important to communicate with your massage therapist about your pain tolerance, and they can adjust the pressure accordingly. While you might experience some discomfort during the massage, many individuals find relief and improved flexibility afterward.

After a sports massage at Ringwood or Verwood Body Consultancy, it’s beneficial to drink plenty of water to stay hydrated. This helps flush out toxins released during the massage and keeps your muscles well-hydrated. You might also consider gentle stretching to enhance the flexibility and relaxation benefits of the massage. Rest and allow your body some time to recover, especially if the massage was intense. Listen to your body and avoid strenuous activities immediately after the massage.

Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing to a sports massage session at Ringwood or Verwood Body Consultancy. This allows the massage therapist easy access to the areas they need to work on. Many people choose to wear athletic shorts and a sports bra or a tank top. The goal is to ensure you feel relaxed and at ease during the session. The massage therapists are professionals and will provide you with privacy and appropriate draping during the massage.
