Elbow pain

TENNIS ELBOW. REPETITIVE STRAIN INJURY. LATERAL EPICONDYLITIS. TENDINOPATHY.

“My elbow hurts.”

“It’s painful on the outside of my upper arm.”

“It hurts to lift or bend my elbow.”

“It’s painful when I grip small objects.”

“I struggle to twist a door handle, lift a kettle or open a jar.”

This problem is often caused by overuse or by a repetitive strain injury of the forearm muscles.

When your muscles or tendons are strained, tiny tears develop, and inflammation occurs.

If this injury cycle is repeated without allowing time for your muscles to heal, then a repetitive strain injury (RSI) can occur.

These types of injury respond very well to conservative care.

A combination of soft tissue massage, dry needling, stretches, exercises and joint manipulation can help to fully sure this nagging problem.

However, if there is too much damage, we can refer you to your GP corticoid-steroid injection or for onward referral to an orthopaedic surgeon.

A qualified Chiropractor, Sports Therapist or Physiotherapist will be able to diagnose this problem quite quickly without the use of any invasive tests or imaging (X-rays, CAT scans, etc.).
