Nutritional Therapy
Good health is not only the absence of disease, it is a state
of wellbeing, vitality and sustained energy; something that many
of us rarely achieve.
Nutritional therapy is for anyone and everyone! It is both
illness prevention and treatment of the underlying root causes
of disease using nutrition, dietary and health promoting
lifestyle changes, sometimes with the addition of supplements,
to help individuals reach and maintain their optimal health. It
aims to treat the underlying causes of illness rather than just
suppressing the symptoms.
In today’s busy world we tend to tolerate and try to manage
many of the aches, pains and niggling symptoms ourselves,
visiting doctors only once our symptoms become bad enough. It’s
these niggling symptoms that can be the hints and signals that
your body is giving you to tell you that something isn’t right
or isn’t working properly. If ignored, these can often develop
into an illness later in life.
Many people today have health problems that aren’t
particularly straight forward and can involve a range of
symptoms such as:
- Sleep problems
- Digestive issues
- Headaches and migraines
- Weight management issues
- Pain and inflammation
- Low energy
- Pre-menstrual or post-menopausal symptoms
- Low moods, depression or anxiety
- Regular infections
- Skin problems
Nutritional Therapy can help overcome all of these …and many
more!
In Nutritional Therapy each person is unique in the treatment
plan they may require because the causes involved for each
person may be different.
As examples:
Headaches and migraines - possible causes include
stress, dehydration, food allergy or intolerance, hormone
imbalance, chemical overload, poor detoxification or unwanted
pathogens.
Weight Problems or bloating - possible causes include
poor digestion, chemical overload, hormone imbalance, food
allergy or intolerance, stress, yeast overgrowth (e.g. candida)
or poor detoxification.
As a Nutritional Therapist I look for the most likely causes
for you based on what you tell me in the consultation and work
with you to address these when designing your personal health
and lifestyle programmed.
My own experiences of alleviating my own hay-fever and IBS
symptoms using nutritional therapy, has given me a fantastic
insight into exactly why and how easily people can become ill, a
better understanding of what it’s like being unwell and
additional tools to help you on the road to optimal health,
happiness and vitality.
