Foot Biomechanics

Did you know that each of your feet contain 26 bones, 33 joints, 107 ligaments and 19 muscles? They are designed to provide a stable yet mobile platform for the rest of our body. However, when wearing shoes, we cannot use our feet in the way they are meant to be used. This can lead to problems not only in the feet (often in the arches) but also the rest of the body.

Sometimes exercises may be necessary to work the intrinsic muscles of the feet, which are designed to grip onto unstable surfaces, as they are not worked as often in modern society. This is why our practitioners at Body Consultancy will look at the structure and function of your feet when diagnosing problems such as knee, hip and back pain, to help to find the source of your problem and not just treat the symptoms.

If you would like to book in for a free 15 minute consultation with any of our practitioners, please give us a call on 01425 473093.
